Research Roundup

We are busy creating a companion research roundup for the Social Work Research Podcast. This will provide a snapshot of recent social work research relevant to practice with both children and adults.

Research Roundup episodes are shorter than interviews with researchers and aim to give the listener a brief summary of some emerging research which may be relevant to practice.

It can be tricky to find time to stay abreast with research and these episodes offer a quick, accessible way to stay informed, broadening the evidence base for practice and highlighting research which listeners may want to look into further.

The research roundup will also provide some reflections from social work practitioners, service users, researchers and students on full episodes of the Social Work Research Podcast.

Working group

Contributors are part of a working group open to anyone with an interest in social work, including practitioners, service users with lived experience and policy makers as well as researchers. On each episode, 3 people each share a piece of research they think has original findings and important implications for social work practice. Discussion aims to summarise the main conclusions of the research as well as critically consider the implications for practice.

Working group members are also invited to join the research roundup to reflect on previous episodes of the Social Work Research Podcast.

Currently the episodes are deliberately not tailored to a specific theme or service to allow sharing insights from various social work roles or engagement with services, and highlighting issues which may be common across different areas of social work.

If you would like to join the working group or have any feedback we would love to hear from you – just email swresearchpodcast@gmail.com.

Thank you!
